There will be a Bus Evacuation Drill on Tuesday, September 18th after the morning route for All Students that ride the school bus to and from school. The drill will be right outside Central before students get off the bus. The drill is to provide the required practical safety training for secondary students. Students should LISTEN CAREFULLY TO THE BUS DRIVER FOR INSTRUCTIONS.

This Wednesday, September 19th, all sophomores will meet in the gym for a sophomore class meeting. 10th graders should wear your school colors, red and black to take the a class picture. Sophomores also get a chance to sign the Class of "2010" banner. The Junior class meeting will be the following Wednesday, September 29th.

A representative from Carleton College is here today at 10:15 in the CRC. The U of MN Twin Cities will be here tomorrow at 10:30 in the CRC, and Bemidji State will be here on Thursday, September 20 at 8:30 in the CRC. For a current list of college visits see Ms. Krejce in room 367.

Applications for students running for senior class officers or council member are due today by noon in room 420. All seniors running as a candidate for the Senior Class council are to attend a short campaign rules meeting today at 2:00 in room 420.

The ACT registration deadline is September 21st. The ACT test will be October 27th. Registration cost is $44.50 for the full test or $30.00 for the non writing portion. Regristration should be paid to the guidance councelor.

Central's Health Start clinic staff reminds you of health services available to all students at no charge to you or your family. The clinic offers sports physicals, help with common illnesses, counseling, nutrition help, confidental services, and other check-ups. To register, stop by to make an appointment, at the clinic before or after school or with a pass from your teacher during the school day. The clinic, across from the office, is open from 7:30 to 2:30 on Monday through Thursday.

Tomorrow night is Central's Open House for parents and guardians of Central students. Open house begins at 6:30PM.

Staff yoga class starts today in room 262. Class begins at 2:30, please be on time. New people are welcomed.

"See You at the Pole" will be held on Wednesday, September 26th at 7:00 a.m. Students and staff gather around the Central flagpole to pray for our world, country, school, family and friends.

Central's Asian Cultural Club meets today right after school in Mr. Wetjen's room 402. Everyone is welcomed to attend.

Mock Trial season begins soon. Mock Trial involves student in actual court room experiences, presenting and defending cases. Here to tell us more is Charlie Armitz and Laura Zats.

National Honor Society committee heads meet Wednesday, September 19th, at 6:30AM in Conference room A.

Roots & Shoots will hold this year's first meeting at 2:15pm on Wednesday, September 19 in Room 207. Roots & Shoots is an environmental and humanitarian organization that gives members the opportunity to meet new people, volunteer, and have fun while helping their environment and community. Everyone is welcomed to attend.

Central's GSA, the Gay Straight Alliance, meets this Wednesday at 2:15 in Mr. Paulson's Room room 565.

(PICS) Last Friday, the Central Boy's football team defeated the Harding Knights 26-20. Junior D.j. Johnson scored 2 touchdowns. Central's defense stopped Harding 4 times on the one yard line to win the game.

The Central Girl's Volleyball Team captured first place in the conference by defeating Como Park 25-20, 25-29, 16-25, 19-25, and 15-13. Congratulations girls!

All girls interested in being on the Central Girl's Gymnastics team meet on Thursday, September 20th right after school in the gymnastics room.

The Central Girls Swimming and Diving Team had an exciting weekend. On Friday they won their second conference meet of the season against Como with a score of 89 to 75. Central won every event, and Co-Captain Laura Biery broke another conference record in the 100 Breaststroke with a time of 1:10.10. On Saturday the team was host for the 11th Annual Autumn Splash Invitational at the College of St. Catherine. There were nine teams from around the metro competing: the Central JV finished seventh and the Varsity finished fifth.

(PICS) On Friday, the Central Boy's Soccer team lost to the undefeated Humboldt Hawks 2-1. They play Harding tonight, at 5:00PM at Griffin Stadium.

The Girl's soccer team defeated Humboldt by 10-0.
