The Jewish Holiday of Hanukkah begins today at sundown. Known as the Festival of Lights, the holiday period lasts eight days and commemorates the cleansing of the temple by Judah Mackabee and the miraculous burning of the Temple menorah for eight days. Hanuhhak is often celebrated by the lighting of the Hannukan menorah, playing dreidle, eating latkes, and giving children Hanukah geld.

Mesibah is sponsoring the 2nd Annual Central Dreidel tournament today in room 586 after school. All students are invited to try their dreidel skills and win prizes.

Tomorrow is an Early release Day. School will end for students at 12:00 noon so teachers can particiapte in professional development. All class will be held on a shortened schedule.Teachers have copies of the schedule on their weekly bulletin.

Drama Board will have there yearbook picture taken in room 420, right after the morning news

The Senior Class Rollerskating trip permission slips must be turned in by 1:05 today. So far 175 seniors are signed up to go rollerskating on Thursday.

The IB Sophomore Interviews have been postponed until the second week of January.

Sophomore yearbook pole winners are posted in the lobby, and yearbook pictures for the sophomore pole winners will be taken tomorrow during lunch in room 420.

The Central Fishing Club meets this Friday in room 563 to discuss their Ice Fishing Extravaganza!

Tonight at 7:00, our #2 ranked Central girls basketball team takes on #10 ranked Cretin-Derham Hall at Cretin.

The winter Orchestra concert is being held tomorrow night at 7:00 in the auditorium. Also, the winter Band concert is Thursday at 7:00. Stay tuned after the show for a behind the scenes look at the band practice.
