(VID) Last night the Central Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra and Jazz Band presented their annual Winter Concert. Favorites included Offenbach's overture to "Orpheus in the Underworld," a Concerto for Four violins by Vivaldi, highlights from "Wicked" and four movements from the "Peer Gynt Suite". It was a fantstic night of music.

(VID)Tonight in the Central audiotrium the Central bands present their annual Winter Concert under the direction of Mr. Matt Oyen. The Jazz band will lead off at 7:00 P.M. with the World Premiere of a piece called "Moist Squeegy Poinsettia" composed by Central Senior Remy Taghavi. The Varsity band will then play a series of pieces ending with the famous "The Washington Post March" by John Phillips Sousa. The Drum Line will then perform "Carol of the Drums". The evening will end with a wide variety of music by the Concert Band including "Fantaisa" by Johann Sebastian Bach. In keeping with a long-standing Central tradition the Concert Band will finish the concert with the all-time favorite "Sleigh Ride" by Leroy Anderson. Next week the Central choirs will take center stage with their Annual Winter Concert on Thursday

The Book Drive for Thailand sponsored by the Central Asian Culture Club continues -- Bring book donations for K-8 readers to room 402

9th graders should be working on their 6-year plan in advisory. 9th graders who have completed the first two parts of the program - their schedule and the "About Me" section by next Friday --Dec 14th. will get free treats in the cafeteria.

The Student Council annual Advisory Food Drive is on. Advisories should collect food to be donated to the Dorothy Day Center. Bags of food will be turned over to the Student Council next week for counting. The four advisories donating the most food will win a special beakfast treat.

Over 300 seniors will go rollerskating today at Saints North. Seniors attending should be excused at 10:15 to go to the cafeteria for bus instructions. Seniors will return at 1:50

Out for equity is hosting a "Pizza and Movie" night this afternoon at 3 at Wellstone Elementary School in downtown St. Paul. The movie tonight will be D.E.B.S.

Today is the last day to enter the Msdden Video Tournament to be held on Friday in the Black Box. Students can register with Coach Howell.

The Boy's Basketball team starts its season tonight. This years team has high expectations, i visited a team practice to get more information.

Once again Central takes on Richfeild tonight at 7:00. The game is here and tickets are 4 dollars for students.

(VID) The Central Wrestlers defeated DeLasalle High School last night, but lost a close match to Mahtomedi. Winning Varsity wrestlers for Central included Robera Ganamo at 119 pounds, Dat Nguyen ant 125, Tom Kreisman at 130, Lulu Ige at 135, Dante Jones at 140, Barry Morgan at 145 and 152, Phil Desroches at 171, Carlos Rosario at 189, and Mickell Brown at HWT.
