(PICS)Last night the Beginning and Intermediate acting classes presented a series of dramatic scenes to 200 family members, friends and guests packed into the Black Box theater in what was a great night of emotion packed drama. ...Tonight the Central beginning acting class presents "Justice, Peace and Love: What is Peace to You?" and Central Touring Theater presents a sneak preview from their 2008 touring show. The cost is 2 dollars and the shows run from 7-9 PM in the black box.

9th graders looking to do well on finals should take advantage of the "Cocoa & Cram" extreme studying session next Tuesday, Jan 15th from 2:14-5:00. The studying starts in the library, Link Crew students and teachers will be available to help 9th graders study for finals

The Central Asian Culture Club holds its annual banquet today at 5:00 PM. Admission is $3.00 here at Central.

Tonight from 7-9 Link Crew Leaders plays broomball at Mr. Schlukebier's. Come prepared with a broom and snacks.

Tomorrow, Saturday, the Mock Trial team competes in its first scrimmage at William Mitchell College of Law. Six teams will be attending from 9:00 am-2:00pm, and there will be two rounds. Everyone is welcome to attend this exciting event. ..In preparation for this scrimmage, the Mock Trial team meets today after school in Room 406 from 2:15-4:00.

For Central girls interested self improvement the Woman's Initiative for Self-empowerment workshop will be held tomorrow at Central from 9:30 to 12. See Ms Krejec in the CRC to sign-up or for more information

The Community of Excellence School in the Midway is looking for Hmong student volunteers to help in an after school reading program for elementary students, Contact Dia Yang in the counseling office

Students of color who would like to participate in a Martin Luther King program held at Concordia College on Monday January 21 should see Mrs Krejce in the Career Resource Room. These students will present the Flag, sing the National Anthem, and say the Pledge of Allegiance. A Native American student is needed to say an opening prayer to start off the program. Students will get paid for their services

The Class of '08 goes snow tubing at Eko Baken on February 7th from 10:00 to 1:50. The cost is 12 dollars. Permission slips will be available soon

2008 American Mathematics Competitions registration is open for all Central students until next Wednesday. Register with your math teacher, Mr. Schwach, or Mr. Paulson. The competition will be held on Tuesday, February 12

(PIC)On Saturday the Minutemen Boys Basketball team with a all round 6 and 3 record goes up against Minneapolis North in a non-conference game at Central beginning at 1:00

The girls' 9 and 2 Varsity Basketball Team takes on the Humboldt Hawks tonight at Humboldt at 7 PM. On Saturday the girls travel to Minneapolis to battle Minneapolis Washburn in a non-conference game at 1:00 in the afternoon

In Hockey action , the Como-Central ice-men drop the puck on Saturday evening against Minneapolis West at Parade Stadium at 7:30 PM. The boys are 6 and 10 for the seasin so far

The girls' Hockey team, the Blades go up against Minnehaha Academy Saturday in the Phalen arena at 7:30 P.M. The Blades are 8 and 8 for the season with one tie. 8 members of the Blades are from Central.
