Auditions for the fall musical Grease begin today after-school in the Auditorium.The auditions will be held after school on Tuesday and Wednesday as well. Students must be signed up on the sheet outside the office.

Congratulations to the following 9th grade advisories who won 'Central Jeopardy" at the 9th grade retreat. They will receive donuts and juice in advisory this Wednesday. The advisories are Matt Hardy, room 578; Ostertag, room 469; Comeford, room 508; Brigger, room 244; Treichel, room 275, Elwell, room 501.

The first meeting of Book Club will be Wednesday, September 17 at 2:15 in the Library Media Center. The book selection this month is "The Glass Castle" by Jeannette Walls. It is a true story, a memoir of her life in a very dysfunctional family. A copy of the book will be provided as well as treats. See Mrs. Erickson, the Media Specialist with any questions regarding the book club.

The following college reps will be here this week. Tomorrow, the U of MN Twin Cities at 12:30; Wednesday, Puget Sound at 11:30, Thursday U of MN Duluth and Friday, Boston University. All reps will be located in the CRC room 367. Any junior or senior is welcome. Passes are required.

All seniors need to get their year book pictures taken by the end of October at the Photographers Guild to be in the 2008-2009 year book. More Information is available in room 420.

Seniors interested in running for class officer, applications and Information will be given at the Senior class meeting in the auditorium during third hour tomorrow.

Central Young Democrats will be meeting in Mr. Shipman's today. Snacks will be provided and all are welcome to attend. Mr. Shipman is in room 407.

Here is the math problem of the week: An architect is sketching of a blueprint of a patio for a new home. On the blueprint, C is the midpoint of line segment AD, which represents one side of the patio. Point B is the midpoint of line segment AC. If line segment BC=8 feet, what is the length of line segment AD? Turn in your answer to Ms. Olson's room, 571. Write your full name, advisor's name and room, and an answer with complete sentences. The winner will be announced on Friday.

The Girls Swim and Dive Team had a big win against Highland Park on Friday night. This was the first conference meet of the season and it looks like it is going to be another great year for the team. On saturday, the team hosted the 13th Annual "Autumn Splash" at St. Kate's on Saturday. Over 300 swimmers participating in the annual event.

The Central boys soccer team continued their domination of the Saint Paul city conference on Friday with a 4-1 win over the Arlington Phoenix at Arlington, with this win they improve their record to 4 and 0 in conference and sit in a comfortable first place lead. Also, they took on Maple Grove in a non-conference game on Saturday at Maple grove. The minutemen fought hard but ended up with a 0-0 tie. Tonight they take on the Humbolt Hawks tonight at Griffen stadium at 5 o' clock.

Today, the Central Minute Maids Volleyball team goes on the road take on Visitation at 6:00 tonight. The girls are currently undefeated in conference with a record of 4-0.

Tonight the Girls soccer team takes on Humboldt at home at 7. The girls look to improve to 4-0 in conference. The Girls are looking to rebound after a 4-2 lost to Cretin on Saturday.

The first Girls Basketball open gym will be Tuesday at the Jimmy Lee Recreational Center. Players can pick up schedules from coach Taylor in the Balcony.
