Centrals Economics Challenge Quiz Bowl Team Members Daeus Jorento, Zach Kagan, Jon Schellenberg and Jennifer Wei won the Minnesota State Competition, which Central has never done before. They now get to Represent Minnesota at the Regional Competition in Houston, Texas on Monday April 27th.

Best Friend Pictures will be taken today and tomorrow during all 3 lunches. Only 2 to 8 people will be allowed in a picture, and you may be in only one picture.

INTRO: To be a member of the National Honor Society, students must uphold the values of scholarship, leadership, service, and character. Last Thursday night, outstanding students were inducted into the society. Here with more on the story is CMN reporter Maddy Longhurst.

Last night at Dunning Stadium the Central Minutemen Baseball team crushed the Harding Knights 14-1 in 5 innings. Highlights include Colin Goligoskis 2nd win and Ben Nelson went 2-3 with a monster Grand Slam as part of the 12 run 2nd inning. The boys are now 1-1 in conference and 2-1 overall. Their next game is Friday against Como Park here at Dunning.

The Central Boys tennis team defeated the Highland Park Scots 4-3. The boys are now 2-1 in conference. Their next game is on Friday against Como Park.

Today there will be a girls basketball meeting after school in Coach Taylor's room, to talk about the girls basketball banquet for C squad, JV and Varsity.

Last night the Central Badminton team lost 4-3 against the Harding Knights. Central is now 2-3 in conference. The team's next meet is this Friday against the Humboldt Hawks.

Tuesday, Central's track and field team competed in the first non-conference meet against Tartan.
(VID) The boys pulled out a win with an overall score of 99, beating Tartan by 61 points. The girls on the other hand have yet to improve trailing Tartan by only 11 points. Here are some highligts

The team holds their first conference meet against Humbolt, Harding and Arlington today at 3:15 here at Central.

The Central Minutemaids Girls Softball team will be taking on Minnehaha Academy in a non-conference game today at 4:30. The girls are 1-1 and hope to make their record even better with another win.

Tomorrow is the annual national day of silence, people all across the country will pledge to be silent in an act of protest against the discrimination of Gay Lesbian Bisexual Transgender individuals. Students can sign up today for free in all three lunches. The following day, April 17th, you can meet up with others for food to break the silence at Dunning Park, from 3-4:30.

Last Tuesday Central Choir students participated in the 4AAA Vocal and Ensemble Contest. They recieved 5 excellent, 13 superior, and 3 "Best of Site" awards to Hannah Howard, Benjamin Dutcher, and Berit Goetz. Congratulations to Central;s Choir.
