On Saturday, the six Central Mock Trial teams competed their first scrimmage at William Mitchell College of Law. Central's team "Yo Mama's Guilty" faced White Bear Lake and Breck, and competed well but lost both rounds by slim margins. Central's other team, "Rock the Mock", scored a victory in one of its two trials.. Congratulations to all who participated

(Video) Friday night before a packed house of friends and relatives the Central beginning acting class presented "Justice, Peace and Love: What is Peace to You?" and Central Touring Theater presented a sneak preview from their 2008 touring show.

The Community of Excellence School in the Midway is looking for Hmong student volunteers to help in an after school reading program for elementary students, Contact Dia Yang in the counseling office

(VID)The Central Asian Culture Club held its annual banquet Friday. Over 200 people attended for good food and a series of performances of dance, music and songs.

The Class of '08 goes snow tubing at Eko Baken on February 7th from 10:00 to 1:50. The cost is 12 dollars. Permission slips will be available soon

2008 American Mathematics Competitions registration is open for all Central students until next Wednesday. Register with your math teacher, Mr. Schwach, or Mr. Paulson. The competition will be held on Tuesday, February 12.

9th graders looking to do well on finals should take advantage of the "Cocoa & Cram" extreme studying session tomorrow, Jan 15th from 2:14-5:00. The studying starts in the library, Link Crew students and teachers will be available to help 9th graders study for finals

On Saturday, the Minutemen Boys Basketball team lost a close, hard-fought non-conference game to Minneapolis North 69-71 at Central . Larry Brown scored 33 points and took 13 rebounds for the Minutemen

On Friday the girls' Varsity Basketball Team defeated the Humboldt Hawks 87-45 led by Thearria Taylor's 22 points. On Saturday the girls traveled to Minneapolis to defeat Minneapolis Washburn 78-32.in a non-conference match-up

In Hockey action , the buys Como-Central team lost 5-7 to Minneapolis West.. The girls' Hockey team, the Blades defeated Minnehaha Academy 4-2 Saturday. The Blades are 9 and 8 for the season with one tie.. On Tuesdat they go up against NOVAS

On Tuesday the Alpine ski team races against Hill Murray at AFton Alps. We close with a picture of this week's advisory of the week - Mr. Backman's Advisory
