(PICS) Friday was the annual Sno Daze dance. Over 550 students attending at the dance at the Crowne Plaza hotel. Central alum Vance McCain was the D.J. for the Mardi Gras themed event. The dance marked the end of Sno-Daze week.

Yesterday was the 75th anniversary of the movie "King Kong" which premiered in New York city. The films special effects-including stop action photography, miniaturization and rear projection- turn an 18 inch rabbit fur covered model into a "menace extraordinary" and set a new standard for animation.

Last Friday was the last day for the famous African American quote contest.The quote was by Louis Armstrong and winners are Claire Dunivan in Mr Modellis room, and Madeline Speer in Mr.Modellis room. Winners can come collect there prize in room 101 during advirsory. Thanks to all students who participated in the contest

Because of the Teacher Professional day this Friday, March 7th there will be no school for students.

(pic) The Science Olympiad Team finished in second place at the State tournament on Saturday, losing to first place winner Moundsview. The results make this the second year in a row the team has finished second.

Central Senior Najma Osman took 3rd place in the Bloomington Jefferson Speech Meet. Congratulations, Najma!

The Muslim Students Association meets tomorrow, Tuesday March 4th in room 567 at 2:15.

The Central Young Democrats meet today directly after school in room 464. There will be no chips and salsa but snacks and drinks will be provided.

The Girls Basetball team plays in the section 4, 4A Semifinals Tournament tonight at Concordia. The number 1 ranked grls face 4th ranked White Bear Lake . If the Girls beat the Bears, they will advance to section Finals March 6th. The game starts following the other sectional semifinal game: Cretin verses Woodbury. Tip-off is expected to be at 7:45. The cost is $5 for students and $7 for adults.

All boys and girls interested in participating in Track and Field this spring should meet on Wednesday March 5th at 2:15 in the auditorium balcony, coach Taylor's room.

The Softball meeting is this Wednesday at 2:15 in Rm 262.Students should bring a participation fee and form if they intend on trying out for the team.
