(PIC) On Friday night in the Black Box, Central High School's Beta Gamma Girl Scouts presented "Furthering the African American Community." The program began with an introduction by emcees Lennisha Walker and Ina Carter, followed by a spirited singing of the Black National Anthem by Sharice McCain. Next, the audience was treated to spoken word pieces by two different artists: Jamal Rogers and Cassie McCain. Tyrone Terril then took the stage with a speech about black history. Kiarra McCain closed the program with a heartfelt praise dance. The event was sponsored by the Beta Gamma Girl Scouts.

(DV-VID)Congratuation to senior wrestling captain Dante Jones for qualifying to compete in the state tournament state. Donte, who has been wrestling for two years, will go for the state title Wedesday at 8pm at the Excel Energy Center. Come to support.

Boys basketball take on the Arlington Phonix tomorrow at 7:30 at Arlington.

(DV/VID)Last Saturday the number 4 ranked girls Minutemaid basketball team faced off against rival and number 2 ranked South Tigers. THis is the second time the two teams have faced off, Central was hoping for a better outcome. They battled hard for a victory but once again lost to the 25-1 Tigers. Centrals leading scorers were Theiarra Taylor with 20 points, Megan Howard with 19, and Kiara Buford with 18 points. The final score was 75 to 52.
