(PICS)This past weekend several Central students participated in the "Youth-rive Peace Jam" at Metropolitian State University. Students participated in service projects and workshops focused on promoting peace. Special guests included Ceasar Chavez's granddaughter and Nobel Peace Prize winner Desmond Tutu.

The Greenstock benefit concert takes place this Friday from 7 to 10pm in the black box. Come watch Zombie the Dragon Slayer, Manzana Casa, post merucry, and Tonight Robots rock. The cost is 3 dollars per ticket.

Central Touring Theatre is collecting Shoes for Africa, collection boxes are in the main office and blackbox.

Central's National Library Week Contest ended with the final book questions on Friday. The winner of the $10 gift certificate for Barnes and Noble is Matewos Gebreiwet from Mr. Elwell's Advisory who correctly identified the book as "Animal Farm" by George Orwell. The library will only be open for two more weeks this school year to allow the library staff to box up all the books before the construction crew comes.

Applications for M-team are due this Thursday, April 24, at 2:15 in room 321 or the office. All students who turn in an applications need to attend a canadidate meeting on Friday. Elections will take place May 5th until May 8th in all three lunches. Four M-team members will be determined, and a student council vote will fill out the rest of the selections. The 2008-2009 management team will be announced May 9th.

Seniors interested in the Central High School Scholarship, the deadline is Friday, April 25th. Over thirty Scholarships with amounts up to $12,000 will be awarded on Senior Honors Night, May 22nd. Applications are available in the CRC.

Centrals Badmiton team lost a tough match Friday to the undeafeated Johnson Governors 2-5. Ka Yang represented Central with strong performances through out the game.

Centrals Softball team swings against Highland Park today at Highland field at 4:00.Last Fridays game against the Johnson Governors has been rescheduled to 4:00 tomorrow at Dunning Field.
