Today is the 90th anniversary of Veterans Day, first known as Armistice Day marking the end of World War1. The armistice occurred on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month in 1918. Later congress changed it to be Veterans day; a day to honor all men and women who have served in the armed forces of the United States. Here at central we salute the following veterans: Bill Nye, Mike Humphrey, Virtis Lanier, Lane Pearson, Dave Greener and Jack Schlukebier.

There is an IB informational meeting for 9th graders today and 10th graders tomorrow in the Auditorium, right after advisory. Students attending must bring a pass to the meeting.

Students may now enroll in Centrals Extended Day Program. English classes will be held on tuesdays and thursdays after school. Social Studies classes will be held on Monday's and Wednesday's after school. Sign up with you guidance counselor this week.

Fresh Force presents a talent show in the auditorium Friday night starting at at 5 PM. Admission is $3. Students interested in performing or being the MC for the event should sign up outside of the office.

There will be an important meeting for the ski team this Wednesday right after school in room 463. All students planning on participating in the ski team this season must attend. Practice begins Tuesday November 18th immediately after school. Come dressed in workout clothes and meet by the weight room at 2:30 pm.

Central Environmental science students Vokee Lee and Yeelang Vue will be collecting batteries to be recycled. Batteries can be dropped off in the office until the end of December

On Thursday November 13th CMEP will hold a 3 on 3 Basketball tournament at 2:30 at Jimmy Lee recreation center. The cost to enter is 30 dollars per team. The deadline to enter is Tomorrow. To enter, see Coach Howell in room 556.

Congratulations to Senior Basketball star Theairra Taylor. She has verbally committed to the University of Iowa. There will be at signing party after school tomorrow at 2:15 in the cafeteria, everyone is welcome to attend.
