This week is bike to school week at central with today being bike to school day. Over 50 students and staff biked to school today. October is international bike to school month. Biking to school and work is both healthy and helps reduce car pollution. Thanks everyone who participated in this day.

Tomorrow there will be an extended advisory. 9th graders will be attending an assembly in the auditorium. 10th through 12th graders will be watching and discussing a short video.

Attention all seniors with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Toyota is now accepting applications for their Community Service Scholarship. If you are actively involved in community or school service, and plan to attend a 4-year college or university, you should apply. Applications are available from Ms. Krejce in room 367.

For those worried about paying for college, there will be a presentation tonight at 6 in the library. It is called "The Value of a College Education...and the Reality of Paying for It". Mick Endersbe, an industry expert on how to pay for college will be there to speak. It is free and everyone is welcome!

ONE is a new club at Central high school focusing on the African culture. The first meeting is today, after school in room 311. If you have any questions contact the president of ONE, Yodit Dereje.

Friday at 10:00 there is a CMEP meeting in room 399.

NHS is having an "Ice Cream Concert" tomorrow in the Black Box at 6:30. There is a cover cost of $5 which includes ice cream. Featured bands are the Central Girls Badminton Team, Manzana Casa, and The Post Mercury. So come out to support NHS and have some fun and ice cream as well!

Central Alpine ski team Meets in Mr. Laniers room on Monday. Students must pay their minimal down payment of $150 by tomorrow. The full payment of $405 is due by Friday November 7.

A CMEP meeting is held this Friday in room 399 at 10:00 a.m. Class dismissal forms are available outside of room 556. If you have any questions see Coach Howell in the study hall.

Central's Cross Country teams both had sectional meets yesterday. The girls took 6th place in their meet yesterday and the boys took a disappointing 4th place at theirs. Junior Kemel Jarso took 3rd, qualifying him to race at the state tournament at St. Olaf this November

Last night the Girls Volleyball team lost to White Bear Lake in the 1st round of Section playoffs. It was a hard tough match all the way through lasting 5 sets. The girls had a great season winning the conference title with an 11-1 record.

Anyone who is interested in wrestling this year, there will be a meeting after school Monday in Mr. Briggers room, 244.

Last night the Girls Swimming and Diving team defeated Como Park 104-64 in the teams 5th conference meet. The Girls are undefeated in conference and have a Varsity Conference meet on Saturday.
