Today is Columbus day which recognizes the efforts of Christopher Columbus to the exploration and development of America.

Today and Tuesday late Registrations for IB Exams will be accepted until 2:00 PM, to accommodate students who have not yet registered. Bring materials to Rm 551.

On Wednesday students in grades 9 through 11 will be testing in the morning. Students in 9th grade take the EXPLORE test, 10th graders will take the PLAN test, and 11th graders will the PSAT. These tests will be taken in your advisory 1st hour. Seniors will have a late start. Regular classes will begin at 10:36.

Elections for Student Council representatives takes place in advisory tomorrow.

The Roots and Shoots meeting for this week has been postponed until next Wednesday the 22nd in room 207. A movie day is planned, so bring snacks.

The Young Democrats meets today in room 461. There will be snacks and everyone is welcome to come.

(IS) The results of the senior class council election are in. The new council members are Pamela Diaz, Grace Goode, Emily Johnson, Zack Levinger, Tristan McCormick, John Thao, and Huava Xiong. All new council members should meet with Mr. Schlukebier in room 420 immediately after school to plan the senior picture.

Freshman boys soccer team members should turn in party forms & money into Mr.Steiner in room 569 by Wednesday October 15.

Students traveling to Argentina need to come to room 505 today after school for a planning meeting.

On Saturday night the boys soccer team suffered a crushing 1-0 loss to Woodbury. The boys season ended with the loss in the 2nd round of sectional playoffs. The team had a great season winning the conference title with an undefeated 11-0 conference record. Great job boys!

On Saturday, Central's JV volleyball team dominated in the junior varsity tournament at Arlington. In their last battle against the Como Cougars, the Minutemen won in two close matches with scores 25-15 and 25-22. Central came in first place.

(VID) On Friday October 10th, The Central Minuteman crushed the Humboldt Hawks 39-0 at Humboldt's homecoming game. In winning the game, Central clinched the St. Paul City Conference title- our first in 20 years. Quarterback LaDarian Horton passed to Jordan Larson for a touchdown in the first half. Jody Washington made three interceptions and recovered a fumble, and Tony Robinson had 15 carries for 112 yards and helped Central's Offense dominate the second half. At the end of the game, Coach Scott Howell pulled off his red polo shirt to reveal a T-shirt sporting the Minutemen as Conference Champions. The boys have not won conference in 20 years. Next up is the Twin Cities Championship followed by Section Playoffs.
