Congratulations to the following Advnaced Placement Academic Award winners for their exceptional performance on the AP exams. Central Graduates, Daniele Monahan and Ellen Rice were named AP National Scholars. The following eleven students qualified for the AP Scholar with Distinction Award: Martin Camacho, Renee Coe, Alexander Cornhill, Laurence Ducker ,Ian Hedberg, Wendy Lang, Stephen Looney, Elwood McCreary, Amelia Rudberg, Jonathan Ryss, and Teresa Yang. The following five students qualified for the AP Scholar with Honor Award: Michael Crellin, Patrick Haney, James Updyke, Sarah Waddle, and Jennifer Wei. These twenty-three students qualified for the AP Scholar Award: (IS of names).

Attention all Alpine ski members, your payment of $150 or $405 dollars, is due by Friday, to Mr. Lanier in room 463. If you do not turn in your money by Friday, you will not be allowed to go to practice with the team.

The Central Book Club will be meeting in the Media Center Wednesday, October 22 at 2:15. This month's book is "Digital Fortress" written by Dan Brown, the same author as "The DaVinci Code." Everyone is welcome.

Congratulations to Deshawn Woods, who is one of 15 winners of this year's Optimist Club of St. Paul scholarship. He will be honored at their annual Youth Appreciation Dinner on November 12th.

The student council list has now been posted in the lobby. Make sure to receive your acceptance letter at room 321. The first student council meeting is this Thursday in the library. This is a mandatory meeting.

Wednesday at 2:15 there will be a Boys basketball meeting in the cafeteria. Boys basketball players should attend. Any concerns or questions please see coach Howell in room 556. There's also a Mandatory girls basketball meeting on wednesday in the library at 2:15

Tonight at 7 the Central Football team who has accomplished many feats this season including scoring 12 points in 5 seconds and winning the conference title for the first time in 20 years looks to accomplish another by defeating the 5th seeded Tartan Titans at Central in the first round of section playoffs. The minutemen are seeded 4th and the winner will play the winner of the Hastings vs Cretin game on Saturday. The team hopes to have many fans there tonight for the big game so students come and show your school spirit. Good luck boys!
