The cast of the One Act play "For Whom the Southern Bell Tolls," participated in a competition last night at Eastview. Their next competition is next Wednesday at Park Cottage Grove.

The Central Showcase takes place February 4th. This will give Central a chance to show students, parents and the community the programs Central has to offer.

Yesterday 250 seniors took part in Senior snow tubing at Eko Bakken. Right after advisory seniors met in the cafeteria all bundled up and ready to go. Seniors had fun sliding and bumping their way down the hill. The cold was made bareable by all the cups of creamy hot chocolate. The groan was audible when seniors realized it was time to go. The 20th National African-American Read-In starts in February.

Last weekend the Central debate team took 2nd place in the Minnesota state tournament. Tomorrow the following students will compete in the qualifying round for the national forensic league tournament: Jenny Chmura, Hannah Johnson, Laura Johnson, Hannah Nesser, Steve Quam, and Max Timmonds. "Seeds of Change" meets after school at 2:15 in the black-box.

Seniors or parents of seniors interested financial aid for college, should come to financial aid night on Thursday, February 12th from 6 to 8, here at Central in the Library. The free event will feature presentations on how to apply for financial aid, who is eligible, what money is available, and how financial aid is calculated. For any additional information contact Steve Olson.

Yesterday was Chinese New Year. This year is the year of the Ox.

Friday Intermediate and Advanced Acting will be performing scenes from their evening productions. Classes are invited to watch 3rd and 6th hours. Teachers intereted should contact Cornelius Rish in the Black Box. This is a great opportunity to see a good show.

And on Saturday, our girls hockey players take on SPA/Visitation, a combined team. The Blades are currently an amazing 5 and 0 and are having high hopes to demolish the competition.

Tonight at 7 the Central Minutemen Wrestling team takes on the Harding Knights at Harding in a matchup of the number 1 and 2 team in conference standings. Seniors Aaron Johnson and Sam Hansen look to lead the way for the Minutemen.
