Tutoring for "Ramp Up for Readiness" is today after school in room 313. Also your field trip permission slips must be turned in by 2pm to Ms. Vadnais.

Last night was the Tri-School Concert, held in the Central Auditorium. The concert featured Central's Jazz Band, Orchestra, and Concert band directed by Mr. Oyen, Ramsey Junior High's Concert Band led by Mr. Corey Needleman, and Webster Elementary's Honor Band directed by Mr. Jonathan Hess. Instrumental pieces performed included "Incantation and Dance", "Fables of Faubus", Johannes Brahms "Symphony No. 2" and "Fanfare and Minuet". The concert was a success with many in attendance.

Paintball club meets today after school in room Mr. Larson's room, 514.

Reminder book club members to pick up "Snow White and the Seven Samurai". It is a humorous fiction book about 3 kids hacking into a computer. Their interference causes a virus and the operating system crashes causing fairy tale characters to behave strangely.

On Monday, softball try-outs start at Jimmy Lee from 4:30-6:30. Be there early so you can turn in your paperwork to Mr. Galloway's office, you will need to turn those in prior to trying out. Also, there is a softball clinic today, contact Natalie or Sam for other information.

Students who have completed the Drivers Education class and still don't have a permit, should take the test on Monday. There is no school Monday because of Teachers Professional Day.

Speech team goes against Metro-Area schools in an Invitational Speech Tournament tomorrow morning. The team meets at Central at 7 a.m. and heads off to Bloomington where the tournament will be held.

Tonight the 18-6 Minutemen basketball team take on the 3-20 Harding Knights here at Central for senior parent night. Come cheer on our boys for their last conference-home game. Tip off is at 7pm. The Woddbury Royals will be the Mintuemen's first team to battle in sectional playoffs.

The Central Jazz Band Performs today with four other high school jazz bands at the jazz band invitational hosted by Orchestra Hall and the Jazz Lincoln Center Orchestra. Centrals jazz band will be under the direction of Wynton Marsalis, a well known jazz musician, composer, and trumpeter.

Girls section playoffs continue tomorrow for the Minutemaid basketball team. The girls take on the White Bear Lake "Bears" in the semi-final round tomorrow night. The game starts at 6:00 at South St. Paul. White Bear Lake was 20-7 this past season, compared to the 21-6 record for the Minutemaids.

Muslim Prayer Group has been canceled. Students should remain in their 6th period classes. See Ms. Lentsch if you have any questions.
