(PICS)Yesterday,CMEP sponsored the annual Teacher Appreciation Luncheon in conference room A,to honor Central Teachers.Delicious food consisting of Fried Chicken,Greens,Red beans and rice,Corn Bread,mashed Potatoes and gravy, and for dessert sweet potato Pie.All teachers were welcome and it was a huge success.

Sunday is Oscar's night. For more insight on students' movie picks this year, Central Morning News and Journalism conducted a poll for "Which movie should win the Oscar this year". Over 200 students voted in total having The Case of Benjamin Button" take the lead with 31 percent. Second place went to Slumdog Millionaire with 26 percent of the votes. Oscar's Awards take place this Sunday night.

Tuesday, February 24 there will be an orchestra festival here in Central's auditorium featuring Ramsey Jr. high and Capital Hill. The festival will be starting at 7pm.

Last night the Boys combined hockey team tied the SPA/Mounds Park Spartans 2-2 in a close overtime game. The teams final conference game is on Saturday at 7:30 against Johnson at Phalen.

Today at Bridge View School there is a softball clinic for all Central Softball players.

Tonight at 7 the Central Minutemen basketball team takes on the Hill-Murray Pioneers in a non-conference game here at Central. The boys have an overall record of 15-5 and a conference record of 6-2. The Boys hope to add another win to their record before they take on Arlington next Tuesday.
