Here is a little Black history day trivia.. On this day in 1945 famous reggae musician Bob Marley was born in Jamaica.

Monday February 9th is African American parent involvement day here at Central. Parents will be visiting classrooms and eating lunch with their kids.

Black History month poetry contest entries are to be turned into Coach Howell in room 556 by Wednesday.

Today is the last day to register for Central's third quarter extended day program. Please see your counselor to get signed up.

Sophomores, juniors and seniors interested in the building trades, and looking for a summer job can apply for a summer construction program. Applications are available from Mr. Nelson in room 221. Completed applications are due February 20.

(PICS) Yesterday afternoon in the blackbox, poets all over the Twin Cities competed in the poetry slam, "Quest for the Voice." The winners were Adrian Eberhardt from Transition Plus, Rachel Kargleder and Pa Houa Thao from Central High School, and Brittney McCreary from Jobs Corps.

Today is the last day to sign up for Midnight Madness an all night event sponsored by Young Life. The cost is 30 dollars and is open to all students. Sign up in the lobby with Nehemiah.

Math students who are participating in the American Mathematics Competition on Tuesday of next week should bring the following items: a #2 pencil, a ruler, a protractor, and a compass. The AMC contest starts at 11:40 am in the library. Calculators will not be permitted. Any questions contact Mr.Schwach in room 568.

Last night at central the Central Minutemen boys wrestling team lost to the Como Park Cougars 35 to 25.

Tonight at 7:00 the Boys Basketball team take on the Harding nights. The boys are 4-1 in conference.

The Central Girls Minutemaid basketball team faces the Harding Knights here at Central, today at 7:00. The girls are 7-0 in conference and go for thier 70th consecutive conference victory.
