Early last week the some of central's best performing artists showcased their talents at one of the top venues in the state, here are CMN reporters Yung Jen Darryl and Cameron with more on the story.

Yesterday, MSA hosted an event part of Muslim Awareness Week, in the auditorium 1st and 3rd hour. A local Imam from the mosque Abu Abukar gave a lecture about Islam and answered question from teachers and students. Muslim Awareness Week will continue this Thursday May 29th, 6th hour.

(PIC) Central's Junior and Senior Prom, "A Night in Paris" will be held at the Rivercenter downtown St.Paul on May 9th beggining at 7:30. The theme colors are pearlized midnight blue, pearlized azure blue, silver, and mylar silver Tickets are on sale now in all three lunches for 35 dollars until May 6th. When students buy a ticket they will recieve a coupon book for corsages, hair, nails, tux's, and cleaners.

The 2009/ 2010 Student Council elections will be in the spring this year. Applications to become a student council member are due Thursday April 30 and elections will be held next week during lunch. Applications are outside of room 321 and in room 511.

Jostens will be here Thursday during all three lunches to hand out senior graduation announcements. Seniors Make sure to have your money ready.

The Senior Central Grad Party "Animate Your Future!" occurs June 2, 2009 at Central after the graduation ceremony .This is the last time for seniors to hang out with old and new friends. Sign up during all lunches on May 18, 20, 22 during lunch, where money can be collected.

Registrations and prices are:
$20 for free/reduced lunch
$35 by May 1st
$40 by May 22
$45 after May 22

(INTRO) CTT or Central Touring Theater is a group of young student actors who write produce and act their own performances. Last Friday they took their show on the road to Humboldt Senior High School to share their views with Humboldt students. Here with some highlights are Tati and Walt.

Yesterday the Central Boys Baseball team defeated the Johnson Governors 11-6. Sophomore Sam Preiner went 2-4 with two RBI's and one run. Central's next game is at home tomorrow against Highland at 3:45.

Congratulations to girls basketball coach Willie Taylor for being inducted for Minnesota State Girls Basketball Hall Of Fame. Taylor had nine straight conference titles with the Minutemaids as well as five section championships, four of those trips to the State Tournament happened in succession from 2005-2008; with back to back state championships in 2007 and 2008. The 2007 team was considered one of the best in Minnesota history with Taylor leading them to a perfect 32-0 mark.

Last night the Girls Softball team crushed the Alrington Phoenix 18-2. Maia Wahlburg got the win. Their next game is today against Minneapolis south at dunning at 3:30.

Central Boys Tennis lost to the Harding Knights 4-3. Their next game is against South St. Paul at South St. Paul at 3:00.

Yesterday the Central Badminton team beat the Arlington phoenix 5-2. Their next game is against the Como Cougars at 3:15 here at Central.
