(IS)Today will be the first day of the African American Quote Contest, celebrating Black History month held by CMN. A quote will be given and if you believe you know what famous African American said that quote you may put your answer in the box in the office.(pic) Please make sure your guess includes your name and advisory number. A winner will be drawn the following morning and can collect his or her prize in room 101 during advisory.Today's quote is: "You have seen how a man was made a slave; you shall see how a slave was made a man."

Tomorrow night, the Minnesota political process begins with party caucuses. All political parties will hold caucuses for those interested in discussion of the parties positions, candidates, and presidential nominees. Your caucus location can be found by calling your party headquarters.

(IS)On Wednesday during advisory, students will nominate 3 boys and 3 girls from their class for royalty for Snow Days Coronation. Freshman will nominate for their Lord and Lady, Sophomores: Duke and Duchess, Juniors: Prince and Princess, and Seniors for their King and Queen.

All 11th and 12th Grade students who have NOT yet passed their Minnesota Basic Standards test for math, the test will be offered tomorrow, right away at 7:30 in the cafeteria. Wednesday the reading BST is given in the cafeteria at 7:30.

New Moves Lunch Bunch meets tomorrow durring lunch in room 399. First semester New Moves girls are invited to join.

Wednesday night Central hosts its annual parent and student Showcase, beginning at 6:00pm. Prospective Parents and sudents will tour Central looking at the school and the programs. At least one member from each department will attened.

Congratulations to Najma Osman for winning 3rd place in Extem-por-an-eous Reading at the Hill Murray Speech Tournament.

Speech team meets today afterschool in 323 yearbook picture will be taken.

The Chinese Club has posted names of students to be auctioned for a dinner date this Thursday. Students still interested in being auctioned, today is the last day to turn in forms.

The Central Minutemen defeated both MPLS. Washburn 54 to 50, and Arlington at home 84 to 67 this weekend

The Girls Basketball team defeated the Arlington Phoenix 87 to 20 on Friday. On Saturday, the girls went across the river to play a rematch of last year's championship game. Here's Mercedes with more on the story.

Tomorrow the Girls and Boys Basketball teams will take on the Como Park Cougars. The girls will be at Central at 7:00 and the boys will be at Como at 7:00.

Tonight at Humboldt Pool at 5 PM the Minutemen Swimming and Diving team will compete in a tri meet against the Highland Scots and the Como Cougars. If the boys win this meet, they will be crowned duel meet conference champs and may compete in the Twin Cities meet next week.
