Christmas begins today for all the Eastern Orthodox Christians.

Minnesota Council of Black Minnesotans invites students grades 7-12 to participate in the 2009 Martin Luther King, Jr Essay Contest, with the theme of "Education American Dream or Public Crisis" All submissions need to be received no later than January 09.Winners will be awarded significant prizes.Submissions forms are available from my Mr.Scrhlukbier or Mr.Rish in the black box.

Today's Music Recital has been moved to January 14th. The Recital includes Central's band, choir and, orchestra and will begin at 7pm in the choir room. All are welcome!

The Wallin Scholarship deadline is January 22nd. Seniors with an ACT composite score of 22( or equivalent SAT) and an unweighted GPA of 3.20 or above are eligible for the Wallin Scholarship worth $16,000. See Steve Olson in the Counseling Office for an application and details.

The Senior Class meets Friday during 2nd period at 9am to discuss Diploma Cards, Cap and Gowns, Snow tubing, Graduation announcements, senior sweatshirts, and other things. Prizes will be awarded.

Last night the Central Girls Basketball team defeated the Humboldt Hawks 69-51 in both teams first conference game of the season. The girls played hard allowing only 16 first half points. Samantha Robinson-Ricks lead the way with a game high 22 points and Theairra Taylor added 19. The girls play again on Friday against Harding at Harding.
