(PICS) Saturday at the Landmark Center over 500 Central Students walked the red carpet to this years Prom! DJ Roger from the Scene entertained the crowd, playing a wide variety of music from Micheal Jacksons Thriller, to Solja Boi. The night was capped off with the naming of this years Prom King and Queen, Jake Abrahams and Tegan Carr! A special thanks to Mrs. Olson and the Prom Commitiee for all of their hard work.

Congratulations to the following students who made the finals in the Minneapolis Federal Reserve Essay Contest: Michael Crelin, Evan Damon, Maria De Sam Lazaro, Anna Graziano, Zach Kagan, Sophia Kissin, and Tristan McCormick. Zach Kagan's essay won second place in the overall competition. The topic was "Hamilton vs. Jefferson: Whose economic vision was better?".

Over 500 people attended drama board's production of Harold Pinter's "A Night Out" this past weekend. Will Quam, lead the cast as Albert Stokes, a lonely man who lives with his mother, played by Marika Procter. The play follows Albert's journey on a "night out" that changes his life as he tries to find solace with a woman of the night played by Emily Peters. Peder Garnaas-Halvorson directed, and guided the production through three successful performances.

Students who wish to be on Drama Board should submit applications by 2 PM today. Applications can be turned in to Ms. Hutchinson, Ms. Jordahl, or the folder outside the office.

A representative from Josten's will be here this Wednesday to deliver graduation announcements to whoever ordered them. They will have a limited number of extras on sale.

The following college representatives will be here this week: Minnesota State Moorhead on Monday, May 5th at 12:00. Gustavus Adolphus on May 6th at 10:30. Art Institue of Minnesota on Friday, May 9th.

Best Friend pictures will be taken this Wednesday and Thursday in the lunch room. Pictures will go in the Yearbook Supplement. Remember students can only be in one picture.

Asian club meets today after school in Mr. Wetjen's room 402.

Mondays and Wednesdays will be tutoring lead by teachers after school. Sign up on the Library door. To recieve a bus token you must study a minimum of one hour.

The annual Multicultural Festival will be this Friday at 1pm. The event will include Food, music, culture and ethnic dress from all over the world. Over 40 countries will have booths to visit.There will also be cultural dancing from many different nations.

As part of the process of become a Link Crew leader, the second round of interviews are held today. Students who's names are posted in the lobby on the trophy case and had sign up for an interview are to meet after school at 2:15 in room 420 today.

The annual band and orchestra spring concert is this week. Both of the band and orchestra has been judge superior. The concert orchestra performs on Wednesday at Central at 7pm. Thursday the band takes the stage at 7pm in the Central's auditorium.

This week elections for the 2008-2009 M-Team will be held in the lobby during all three lunches until Thursday. Then followed by a Student Council vote on Friday from 7:00 until 9:00 AM in room 321. Only seven cendidates will be elected, with three members already serving on M-Team. The M-Team candidates are: (PIC) Shahir Ampey,(PIC) Najwa Duncan, (PIC) Anna Forster-Smith, (PIC) Javon Jackson, (PIC) Sarah Jacobs, (PIC) Latifahdenna Jordan, (PIC) Tyler McMillan, (PIC) Merone Melekin, (PIC) Lulete Mola, (PIC) Kevin Pitman, (PIC) Patrick Risberg, (PIC) Gabe Street, (PIC) Nancy Weeks, (PIC) Huava Xiong, and (PIC) Mai Tong Yang. Students will vote for three candidates.

The Central Baseball team takes on the Como Park Cougars at Dunning stadium. The first pitch is at 3:45.

Today at 3:15 the Badminton team will end thier regular season action with a match against the Johnson Governors at Johnson.

The Minutemaid softball team also faces Johnson at Phalen. The game starts at 4:00. The girls are tied with the Governors for second in the conference with a 6 and 2 record.

The Central boys tennis team plays the Humboldt Hawks today at Central at 3:15. The Boys are currently third in conference holding a 5 and 2 record.

All girl's basketball players who are interested in playing in the Concordia Summer Basketball League should sign up witth coach Taylor before Wednesday.
