(Marching Band VCR)As we speak Central's Pep Band is preparing for their march in the St. Paul School Patrol Picnic in downtown St. Paul. They will march from Union Depot to Rice Park. Central High School has been marching in this event for 15 years. The band is under the direction of Matt Oyen.

The newly elected M-team meets tomorrow morning at 6:30 in the Student Council room.

(choir VCR)The spring choir concert starts at 7 pm this Thursday. It features performances from mens' choir, womens' choir and concert choir, as well as the smaller extracurricular ensembles Central Singers and Minnesingers. The choirs are directed by Martha Graber and will sing pieces that celebrate spring. Here's a sneek peek.(pause)

A memorial service for Central grad Willie Jacobson will be held today from 4 to 7 PM at the Weyerhaeuser Chapel at Macalaster College.

Yesterday the Central Baseball team lost a tought fought battle to the Highland Scots 6 to 2. THe Minutemen held on to a 2 to1 lead all the way to the 6th inning. Drew Gunderson hit a solo Home run in the third inning giving the boys the lead. Central Pitcher Orin Larson, ranked third in the state in pitching with an Earned Run Average of .57 took the loss. The Boys next game is at 3:45 today against the Arlington Pheonix at Arkwright field.

Yesterday the boys golf team came in third at the conferece golf tournament. The tournament was at Keller golf course which is a par 71. Centrals Christian Atlas and Ian Luby were medalists with scores of 88 and 86 respectivly.

Sports arent the only things going on, There are big thing happening here at Central on Friday night, here are Sarah Waddle from Roots and Shoots and Beret Geotz with the literary magazine.

Last night Central Softball beat Harding 5-4. Central has clinched 3rd place in the conference. Natalie Mironov picthed and earned her first win with Sam Silver going 2 for 2 with a double and one RBI. Central plays Edison today at home.

The girls badminton team hosts the first round of the state tournament today against Patrick Henry. Action starts at 3:30.

There is girls basketball players open gym tonight from 7 to 8:30.
