Centrals newly remodeled Gymnasium re-opens Monday December 1st after 4 months of construction. The gymnasium now has new wooden floors, a new set of bleachers and an extended exit on the North End.

Girls Swimming and Diving sweats are Here. They will be handed out by the captains in the locker rooms after school today. Make sure you come and pick them up.

The Central girls swimming and diving team participated in the preliminary round for the state tournament on Friday November 21st. They took part in the 200 freestyle relay and 400 freestyle relay. The girls did well and placed 22nd in the 200 and 26th in the 400, unfortunately this was not enough to qualify for the next round or state and ends the girls great season.

Yesterday 125 students attended the Park Square Theatre Immersion Day. The students saw the play A "Midsummers Nights Dream" and met with the professionals who starred in the play. However the highlight of the day was the six theatre workshops lead by Theatre employees. The students learned acting methods such as Stage Combat, Stage Makeup, Improv and Making the Invisible Visible. They also learned the Actors Voice which focused on Shakespearian Insults and Acting Shakespeare. The field trip willl be remembered as a very educational and enjoyable experience.

The Book Club meets today after school in the computer lab, to discuss the Sci-fi thriller The Moon is a Harsh Mistress. The book is available today!

(Vid) On Friday, Fresh Force hosted their talent show "Talent or No Talent." Contestants practiced from 2:30 until the opening of the curtains. It was a little hectic backstage as the talents prepared for their showcase. There were many different talents presented, most of them being either dancing, singing or rap. Here's a look at some of the participants. (Pause) The proceeds and canned goods collected at the door are to help Fresh Force's "Feed the Need" project in Decmber.

(vid)Yesterday in the lunchroom, after school, friends and family gathered to support Theairra Taylor signing the letter of intent to attend the University of Iowa, a Division 1 school. Coach Taylor thanked Dave Lavick from the Star Tribune, Kevin Carlisle and Nate Galloway. Ms. Mackbee talked about Theairra not only being a great basketball player, but a very good student and role model. Theairra then signed the letter of intent and happily celebrated with her family and friends.

The band, under direction of Matt Oyen, performed patriotic medleys and participated in the ceremonies honoring american service men and women sponsored by the 173 Airborne Brigade. Today is the 90th anniversary of Veterans Day, first known as Armistice Day marking the end of World War1. The armistice occurred on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month in 1918. Later congress changed it to be Veterans day; a day to honor all men and women who have served in the armed forces of the United States. Here at central we salute the following veterans: Bill Nye, Mike Humphrey, Virtis Lanier, Lane Pearson, Dave Greener and Jack Schlukebier.

Tomorrow Tuesday, November 4th is Kids Voting USA. Students will have a chance to cast a simulated vote for all offices and constitutional amendments in the general election. All students at Central will be coming with their Social Studies teachers to vote on the computers in the labs to simulate what adult voting is like.

Students not enrolled in a Social Studies class should come to the Media Center anytime during the day. Results will be on the news on Wednesday or Thursday.

Students of legal voting age should exercise their right to vote. GET OUT AND VOTE tomorrow. We are hoping to break the previous record of 86% of registered voters who actually voted in Minnesota.
