With the rain pouring down on them, the Central Minutemen played what could be one of the greatest games in our history. Sophomore phenom Brandon Purcell pitched a gem yesterday throwing 118 pitches and 11 innings of hitless baseball. The game was close the whole way through with spectacular plays in every inning to keep the Minutemen spirits alive. In the bottom of the 11th inning sophomore Chase Gunderson hit a triple to deep left-center field to lead off. Junior Brady Whalen became the RBI guy hitting in the winning run with a single immediately after and scoring Gunderson to win the game in walk off fashion. This win puts Central in a tie with Highland for the conference lead with only five conference games left. The teams next game is on Friday against the Harding Knights at Harding at 3:45
