Today is celebrated in many Christian churches as "All Hallows Eve". Tomorrow is known as "All Saints Day", a day to honor all the saints of the Christian Church and unamed saints.

The Central Girls Varsity Swimming and Diving Team won the conference meet last Saturday at Humbolt. Varsitys first place finishes were, Paige Norman, Laura Biery, Ali Lauer, and Betsy Robertson. Centrals JV Swimming and Diving team took 2nd. Individual JV races were won by Shannon Krohn, Maddie Hampstead, Margaret Whitmore and Kristen Neff. The relay team of Arnosti, Biery, Pera and Norman took the 200 Medley Race and the 400 Free Relay. Central also shut out the other teams in the 200 and 500 Freestyle races. Central takes to the water against South next Saturday, at the Twin Cities Meet. Good Luck Swimmers.

Last night at Humboldt, the undefeated Centrals Girls swimming and diving team beat the Highland Park Scotts in their final meet of the year. The aqua maids are now 6-0 in the conference. Central will go on to the twin cities meet on november 3rd.

Yesterday, the Boys and Girls Cross country teams completed their seasons with a strong finish. The boys team placed 4th overall behind the top 3 teams in the state. Sophomore, Kemal Jarso was Central's top finisher placing 5th overall in the 5 kilometer race. Kemal's time qualifies him for the State tournament. The girls team finished ahead of all other St. Paul schools. Junior Lexy Millett earned Central's best time in the 4k.

Last night in volleyball playoff action, White Bear Lake Bears defeated the Central Minutemaids in all 3 sets.

The teams played four great matches, first game was won by Lakers and the next by Central, the last two by the Lakers. Last Friday the Central Minuteman closed out there regular season with a win over Arlington Phoenix with a final score of 22-6. This win put the Minuteman 3rd in conference for the year with a record of 4 & 2. D.J. Johnson led the game in rushing with 176 yards and 1 TD. Centrals Defense was at an all time high led by Junior, Jordan Larson with 10 tackles and an interception, Aaron Volkert had 9 tackles and 2 sacks, & Christian Atlas also had 8 tackles and 1.5 sacks

Saturday Oct. 13th, Centrals boys soccer team defeated Cretin Durham Hall Raiders 1-0 in section 4AA playoffs. In the last 4 minutes of overtime Central's Naveed Effendi scored an amazing game winning goal! The next game takes place Tuesday, Oct. 16th against Hill Murray Pioneers at Spring Lake Park, at 7:00.

There were several different events; for the royal games, the seniors won the challenge, and the hip hop team performed an outstanding performance.

(IS) Last night at Central's homecoming game, Central lost to Hill-Murray 42-14. The Minutemen scored in the 3rd quareter. Jordan Larson caught a 55 yard pass and a 19 yard pass from Terrel Frazier. Key Minutemen players were unable to play at last nights game. Good try boys.

(IS)Central Varsity Cross Country will be at the Swan Invitational at Enger Park in Duluth tomorrow morning at 10 a.m.

(Coronation VID)Last night, Central's Homecoming Royalty Coronation took place in Central's audiorium. The evening started off with Mani Strings on the piano performing a medley of R&B songs. The freshman Lord and Lady were crowned first. Freshman Tyler Strickland was crowned Lord and freshman Ashleigh Williams was crowned Lady. "Crank Dat Mob," a hip hop dance group, hyped up the crowd, performing to "Crank That" and other hip hop songs. The sophomore class was soon to be crowned next. Sophomore Romeo Hutchins was crowned Duke and sophomore Quinesha Adams was crowned Duchess. Chia Lor took the stage away performing on the piano. The junior class was crowned next. Junior Larry Davis was crowned Prince and junior Katrina Xiong was crowned Princess. Jamal Roger and Darnell Overton took the stage performing to "What About Us" and "Milk and Cereal." And finally the senior class were to be crowned. Senior Anthony Frelix was crowned King and senior LaCresia King was crowned Queen. Mani Strings and Dorian Cotton-Herron closed the night with a hip hop improvisation.

The Theater Space Project in collaboration with the Central Drama Club is offering a day long Advanced Acting and Theater Skills Workshop this Saturday, October 6 in the Lowry LAB Theater in downtown St. Paul from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm. Professionals in theater will teach acting, directing, voice, and movement. The cost is 20 dollars per student, checks are made payable to "Theater Space Project" or "TSP". Please see Ms. Hutchinson in room 509 or Ms. Graber in the choir room today to apply.

The girl's swimming and diving team is still undefeated in conference with a record of 4-0 defeating Johnson High 100 to 50 last Tuesday. Their next meet is Saturday October 6th at the Veterans Memorial Community Center.Good luck girls.

B5's new album "Don't Talk Just Listen" is now out and features the hit single "Hydrolics" which was performed yesterday much to the delight of everyone. The concert was sponsored by B96 and was responsible because of your great texting abaility! Good job Central.

Homecoming Royalty Coronation takes place tomorrow night at 7 pm. in the auditorium. Come see the crowning of the King and Queen, Prince and Princess, Duke and Duchess, and Lord and Lady. The highlight of Coronation will include Central's Hip Hop Team, Mani Strings, and much more talent. The night will end with a drawing for a free Homecoming Picture Packet.

Central High School has won the B96 School Spirit Contest. Today, the musical group B5 from the Disney Channel will present a special Central-only concert in the gym during part of 6th Period. Today's schedule will be modified. The new schdule is in the teachers' boxes. 6th period will start at 12:00 today. Students will be called to the gym from 6th period for the B5 Concert. Students are to sit in grade level areas - just as we do for most pepfests. This is a special treat and honor for Central High because of our great school spirit - Let's show that spirit with a super concert that shows respect and consideration to each other and the Band - B5.

Pictures for ID cards, Yearbook, and personal picture packages are being taken today in room 420 for students who were absent or not prepared last week.
