(IS) The following college representatives will be here next week in the CRC: On Monday, North Hennipen Community College at 10:00. On Tuesday, St. John's and St. Ben's at 8:30; Yale University at 10:15; and St. Olaf at 11:30. On Thursday, Knox College at 8:00; Kenyon College at 8:45; and Concordia Moorhead at 1:15. And on Friday, Oberline College at 11:45; Harvey Mudd at 12:30; The University of St. Thomas at 10:00; The University of Chicago at 1:00; and Occidental College at 1:00.

Central will be attending the Minnesoa College Fair on October 10th from 8:45 to 11:15. Juniors and seniors are invited to attend, but you need a permission slip to go. Permission slips are avalible in room 367 and space is limited.

Picture Day for ID, Yearbook, and personal pictures for family and friends continues today during math class. Students absent or unprepared yesterday may come to get pictures taken during their study hall or lunch period - not during class. Picture Make-Up Day will be on Monday for absent or unprepared students who have an admit slip or make special arrangements with Mr. Schlukebier today. Make-Up pictures will be taken on Monday from 7 A.M. to 1 P.M. in the Yearbook room - Room 419.

Any Juniors and Seniors interested in science and technology who have a GPA of 2.0 and higher are welcome. The Girls Tennis Match yesterday evening was postponed due to weather conditions. The Match will carry on today at Como Park at 3:15.

(IS)Tonight the Central Minutemen Football team host the rival Highland Scotts at 7pm at Griffin Stadium. The two teams will be playing for the Musket . Highland comes into Central with a conference record of 2-1 and Central will try to improve their conference record to 3-2 as well as keep the musket on their Sideline. The two teams have been playing for the musket since 1964 and Central has won the musket 24 times and Highland 18 times there has been also been one tie back in 1968.

(IS) This weekend, Central sports are back in action. Saturday, the cross country team participates in the Roy Griak Invitational. Today at 5:00, the boys socccer take their 5-1 conference record into Arlington to play the Phoenix. Girls soccer plays at 3:15 as they try to improve on their 6-2 confrence record against the Phoenix. Girls swwimming and diving participate in the Orono tournament tomorrow.

Congratulations to the following 2008 National Merit Semifinalists: Alex Chudzik, Ilias Karim, Elwood McCreary, Daniele Monahan, Ellen Rice, Remy

(IS)Seniors processing college applications, Here's what to bring to the counselor with your college application:
1.Completed application
2.Recommendations (if required)
3. Envelopes stamped and addressed( at least two stamps)
4. Application fee (check or money order)
5. $1.00 per transcript needed.
The counselor will put your transcript, ACT/SAT scores, and a school profile in with your application. The counselor will then send your application and document the date it was sent.

(VID)Thursday at 5:30 Central's gym, weight room, and two hallways were flooded about an inch an a half deep. There was no damage and nobody was hurt. The football game was cancelled because the field was completely drenched in water and the varsity volleyball game was cancelled because the gym was being flooded coming from 3 different doors.

(IS) The Central Girls Swimming and Diving Team won their third conference meet of the season against SPA, with a score of 109 to 74. Central teams won the 200 Medley Relay and the 400 Free Relay. Individual events were won by Paige Norman in the 100 Butterfly, Nora Holte in the 500 Freestyle and Laura Biery in the 200 Freestyle and 100 Breaststroke.

3. Envelopes stamped and addressed( at least two stamps)
4. Application fee (check or money order)
5. $1.00 per transcript needed.
The counselor will put your transcript, ACT/SAT scores, and a school profile in with your application. The counselor will then send your application and document the date it was sent.

There will be a Bus Evacuation Drill on Tuesday, September 18th after the morning route for All Students that ride the school bus to and from school. The drill will be right outside Central before students get off the bus. The drill is to provide the required practical safety training for secondary students. Students should LISTEN CAREFULLY TO THE BUS DRIVER FOR INSTRUCTIONS.

This Wednesday, September 19th, all sophomores will meet in the gym for a sophomore class meeting. 10th graders should wear your school colors, red and black to take the a class picture. The clinic offers sports physicals, help with common illnesses, counseling, nutrition help, confidental services, and other check-ups. (PICS) Last Friday, the Central Boy's football team defeated the Harding Knights 26-20. Junior D.j. Johnson scored 2 touchdowns. Central's defense stopped Harding 4 times on the one yard line to win the game.

The Central Girl's Volleyball Team captured first place in the conference by defeating Como Park 25-20, 25-29, 16-25, 19-25, and 15-13. Congratulations girls!

The Central Girls Swimming and Diving Team had an exciting weekend. On Friday they won their second conference meet of the season against Como with a score of 89 to 75. Central won every event, and Co-Captain Laura Biery broke another conference record in the 100 Breaststroke with a time of 1:10.10. On Saturday the team was host for the 11th Annual Autumn Splash Invitational at the College of St. Catherine. There were nine teams from around the metro competing: the Central JV finished seventh and the Varsity finished fifth.
